growing trend in notebook computers

There is a growing trend in notebook computers which could put you in harms way. Since the recent discovery of thousands of defective notebook batteries being used in many of the most popular brands, explosion and heat related injuries have been on the rise. Even though the majority of notebooks are using stable laptop battery, most systems are so powerful now that the user is still not free and clear of potential burns during routine use. Most users will agree that the term laptop may no longer apply, as the aptly named devices are showing up less and less on a users lap.

Small and inexpensive “netbooks” were some of the most popular computers in the recession, wooing consumers with their portability and prices that were often below $400.Now with the economy improving, consumers will be asked to open their wallets to new styles of computers, including some costing a bit more.

Winning at the 2010 IF design awards, this stylish, feature rich netbook encapusulates an enviable list of features deigned to provide the optimum netbook experience. Packed into an extremely slim 1” frame and weighing just 1kg, the U160 punches way above its weight as its Intel Atom N450 processor affords low consumption, low heat generation and ultra-economomical power usage while offering above 9 hours of extended laptop battery life.

While at the Dell suite at CES 2010, I took the opportunity to play with the all-new Lenovo(xps m1330 battery) Inspiron Mini 10. Despite having the same name as its predecessor, this is a substantially different design: in particular, the hinge is now set back around an inch from the rear edge, which allows future designs to integrated more ports at the back. For now, though, only the power input has moved.

ARM, Qualcomm and Google are doing their level best to derail Intel's plans to dominate the small, cheap laptop market that's currently characterised by the burgeoning netbook.Their hopes rest with the smartbook - an always-on, always-connected device that's an extension of a smartphone rather than a shrunken-down notebook. Smartbooks and netbooks share a fairly similar form factor, though.

The new year is a good time for notebook PC users to get thin, and by that we mean the actual notebooks they should be using.

A wide range of new IT products in really thin form factors came out toward the end of 2009 and are now expected to become big this year. Those that have shed a lot of weight are new notebooks from Asus, Dell and Lenovo(xps m1330 battery), but even desktop monitors are also losing their heft to sport a much slimmer profile.
Netbooks are these little, tiny underpowered PCs that are becoming more popular among a small segment of the computing world, including high-school students who often have them forced upon them by unsuspecting school boards.

From a projector that can turn any flat surface into a touchscreen to a mind-boggling iPhone-controlled mini-helicopter, the devices on show ranged from the useful to the downright ridiculous.

After your loved ones have shelled out, in some cases, hundreds of dollars to deliver the gift of GPS units, cell phones and MP3 players, you'll want to keep them in tip-top shape. But grimy touch screens, cell phones dropped in water and fast-draining laptop batteries can ruin your fun.

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas serves many purposes for PC manufacturers and software makers. OEMs can display their traditional workhorses, Lenovo(xps m1330 battery)’s ThinkPad line, for example, to show updates such as more powerful processors. These same companies can also show off some of their exotic creations, such as the Kohjinsha DZ Series laptop and its two 10.1-inch screens that slide out into one giant widescreen. Whatever the case, CES proves that there’s a PC for just about anybody’s needs. The following are some of the most interesting PCs found during first day of the event.

Every month we let you know which Laptop computers we see with the highest user ratings and most sales around – this month the top three contenders for laptop computers aren’t the typical front runners like Lenovo(xps m1330 battery) or Apple – no, in fact, this month the top three positions go to Asus, HP and Toshiba!
